#Hangzhou Asian Games
The 19th Asian Games, held from Sept. 23 to Oct. 8 in Hangzhou, marked the third time China has hosted the Asiad, following Beijing in 1990 and Guangzhou in 2010. This edition of the Games delivered an inspiring showcase of athleticism, with 15 world records, 37 Asian records and 170 Asian Games records shattered.
Raja Randhir Singh, acting president of the Olympic Council of Asia, hailed Hangzhou as "the perfect host" and called the Games "an unprecedented success" in his speech during the closing ceremony at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium.
