# UN General Assembly adopts the Beijing Winter Olympic Truce Resolution
The 76th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly adopted the Beijing Winter Olympic Truce Resolution drafted by China and co-sponsored by 173 member states on Dec. 2.
According to Zhang Jun, China's permanent representative to the UN, the draft resolution focuses on the Olympic Truce spirit and recognizes the role of sport as a tool to build global resilience to address the impact of COVID-19.
