# China's FAST telescope open to the world
Since March 2021, China's Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST), the world's largest single-dish and most sensitive radio telescope, has opened to the world for observation applications.
Dubbed the "China Sky Eye," FAST has helped scientists identify over 500 new pulsars. Breakthroughs have also been made in the field of fast radio bursts.
Wu Xiangping, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of the FAST's science committee, said that the opening of FAST demonstrated China's willingness for global cooperation and its practice of building a community with a shared future for humanity.
