China's major economic indicators concerning people's livelihoods continued to recover steadily with positive growth momentum in the first half (H1) of 2021. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the country's per capita disposable income stood at 17,642 yuan (about $2,731) in H1, up 12.6% from the same period last year in nominal terms, or 12% year on year after deducting price factors.
Of all 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in China, Shanghai, Beijing and Zhejiang secured the top three places with their per capita disposable income exceeding 30,000 yuan in H1. Disposable income in the next seven provincial-level regions also exceeded the national average with high year-on-year growth rate.
