# Cultural tourism sight of Lugou Bridge
Sitting by the Yongding River in southeast Beijing, the cultural tourism sight of Lugou Bridge is a national-level red tourism attraction. Lugou Bridge, also known as Marco Polo Bridge, was built over 800 years ago. On July 7, 1937, it bore witness to the Lugou Bridge Incident and the beginning of China's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.
