On July 6, 2020, the China Economic Life Survey (2019-2020) revealed the top 10 Chinese cities with the highest quality of living.
Jointly conducted by China Central Television, National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), China Post Corporation, and National School of Development at Peking University, the annual survey evaluated cities based on three key indicators, including satisfaction, happiness, and security, and 21 secondary indicators, such as income, health care, education quality, and public service.
By issuing questionnaires via post, the survey involved 130,000 Chinese people in 154 cities and 297 counties across the country.
According to the survey, people have a higher level of satisfaction with cities' water and air quality, public security, health care, education quality, and green spaces. People hold higher expectations for cybersecurity, food safety, inclusiveness, and social ethos.
