"Parasite" is a South Korean black comedy thriller directed by Bong Joon-ho. The film follows a young man from a poor household who begins to tutor a rich family's daughter. Soon a symbiotic relationship forms between the two families. But when a parasitic interloper threatens the poor family's newfound comfort, a savage underhanded battle for dominance breaks out, threatening to destroy the fragile ecosystem between them. "Parasite" won the Palme d'Or at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival and it was the first South Korean film to do so.
