China and Africa together had about 1.43 million cross-visits in 2017, according to a report released on Monday by the China Tourism Academy (CTA), a think tank under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and several leading Chinese tourism websites.
Specifically, there were 797,800 Chinese who visited Africa, while 628,300 African visitors came to China.
And, the booming trend seems to be continuing. In the first seven months of this year, Chinese visits to Africa grew by 70 percent year-on-year, as recorded by Ctrip, one of China's leading online tourism service providers.
