Euromonitor International, a business intelligence research website, has released its latest annual ranking of the top 100 city destinations in terms of international tourist arrivals.
Over one third of the top 100 cities are located in Asia during the assessment period (2014). Hong Kong is the number one city destination in the world, with a total of 27.8 million international visitors. London ranks second, with 17.4 million and then Singapore, with 17 million.
The data are based on official and semi-official reports, statistics from national statistics offices, online databases and the financial, business and mainstream press.
