Over the past few years, Chinese outbound tourists have paid more attention to the quality and the added value of travel experiences. They are now more inclined to explore novelties and are less wild about shopping, a recent survey said.
Eased visa rules, the missing plane of Malaysia Airlines and changes of currency exchange rates against the yuan have all had an influence on Chinese people’s travel trends, according to a survey conducted by Travelzoo Asia Pacific in November 2014.
A total of 4,322 Asia-based Travelzoo members from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and Australia were asked to select their five favorite destinations from a list of 44. The result shows Chinese travelers’ top 8 preferred destinations in 2015:
