Paris retained the crown as the world's best city for students, followed by Melbourne and London, according to the latest 50 Best Student Cities 2015 ranking released by QS, a famous university ranking website, on Nov. 24.
Ranking was given based on five criteria: rankings, student diversity, desirability, employer activity and affordability.
Hong Kong took the 5th spot in the overall rankings, making it the best city for students in Asia. Although the city is famous for its high cost of living and high rents, its high rankings on the Numbeo safety list (8th out of 372), the Economist's 2014 Global Liveability Ranking (31st out of 140) and the Transparency International score (15th out of 177) still made it an ideal place for students.
Cities in the United States and Europe still held the majority of spots on the list, reflecting their comprehensive strengths in education and standards of living.
