Diego Armando Maradona (Argentina)
Time: 1990 FIFA World Cup, Italy
In the 1990 FIFA World Cup, the reigning champion Argentina fought hard to get the ticket to finals. They fought against Germany with only nine players, as two were sent off with red cards. Finally, Germany won against Argentina with a penalty kick at 85 minutes during the second half. It was also one of the most disputed penalties in World Cup history. After the competition, Maradona said tearfully: "How can I not cry? They took our champion and insulted my country."
