The intimate life of dolphins and humans
In 1967, philosopher John Cunningham Lilly published a book called “The Mind of the Dolphin,” which described his work with dolphins, attempting interspecies communication between humans and dolphins. He designed a "communications laboratory," a floating living room, where his female assistant stayed with a male dolphin for six months. She taught the dolphin English and was very intimate with it. The dolphin even tried to mate with her.
