Located at Mingfeng Mountain, 7 kilometers (4.35 miles) to the east of Kunming City, the Golden Temple Park boasts a famous Taoist temple. The temple, made of bronze, twinkles under the sunshine; consequently the park received its name of "Golden Temple Park."
In the form of a square, the hall is 6.15 meters wide and 6.7 meters high, weighing some 200 tons. Its pillars, brackets, doors, windows, roofs, tables, statues, curtains, boards and other parts are all crafted from bronze. It was originally built in 1602 during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and renovated in 1671 of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). It is now the biggest and best preserved bronze temple in all of China.
