The latest Hurun rich list shows that Tencent's Ma Huateng has surpassed Baidu's Li Yanhong as the wealthiest person in China's IT industry for the first time in four years. .
Ma Huateng is chairman and CEO of Tencent Holdings, who has totalled 56 billion yuan (US$9.15 billion), putting him in number one position.
Li Yanhong is the founder of China's search engine giant Baidu. He ranked in second position, with a total wealth of 46 billion yuan (US$7.52 billion).
Jiang Bin and family, the owners of component manufacturer GoerTek Inc., a major supplier to Apple, rank in third position for the first time, with assets of 34 billion yuan (US$5.56 billion).
IT is the fastest growing industry in the Hurun rich list, growing at 20 percent. The average fortune of the top 50 richest IT magnates is 10.7 billion yuan (US$1.75 billion), 51 percent higher than last year and the highest in history.
