Wu Changshuo is a renowned painter, calligrapher and seal-carver of the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). Being a representative of the Sea Painting School, Wu achieved great recognition in free-style flower painting and employed burin and calligraphy in paintings creating a distinctive style. His brightly colored works are considered to be magnificent and of high aesthetic value.
