Bai Baoshan 白寶山
Bai Baoshan, known as one of China's most cold-blooded villains, killed 15 people, including soldiers and policemen, and managed to injure another 15 between March 1996 and August 1997. Bai, born in 1958 in Xushui County, Hebei Province, was sentenced to 14 years in jail for robbery, stealing and assault in 1983 when he was only 26.
After being released one year early in 1996, He then set out to revenge himself at what he believed to be an unfair society, grabbing soldiers' guns and taking lives while robbing and stealing.
On August 19, 1997, Bai and his accomplice Wu Ziming stole 1.4 million yuan (US$168,900) and killed seven people in Urumqi, Xinjiang. He later shot Wu dead, smashed his head in and then burned the corpse. He even thought of getting rid of his mistress. Bai later revealed that he beaten two inmates to death with a hammer when he was still serving time in Xinjiang. He was detained by police on Sept. 5, 1997 and executed in April 1998.
