This year's Engineering School Ranking, released earlier this month by Business Insider, rated the California Institute of Technology as the world's best engineering school for 2012.
The rankings were compiled from survey results taken from 723 respondents, including canvassing engineers, industry professionals and entrepreneurs who work at some of the world's largest technology companies. Each respondent was asked to grade schools using a scale where 5 equaled most valuable and 1 equaled not at all valuable. The responses for each school were then averaged to give the final scores.
Besides scores, Business Insider also carried out research on LinkedIn to find the top employers for each school, ranking them in order of the highest number of graduates employed per school.
