Xiamen University (XMU), situated in Xiamen, a famous tourist city in Fujian Province, was founded in 1921 and is the first university in China to be founded by an overseas Chinese businessman. Located in the southern part of Xiamen Island at the foot of green mountains and surrounded by Xiamen Bay, the university is well known for its beautiful campus. Presently, XMU offers 83 undergraduate programs, 279 master's programs and 185 doctoral programs in 26 academic schools.
