According to Netbig.com, Tsinghua University is once again the Chinese university with the best reputation, meaning that the university has now maintained its place at the head of the list since the ranking was first published 13 years ago.
One big difference from previous years, however, is the fact that a large number of professional universities and colleges have become more prestigious, such as the University of Science and Technology of China, which rose to third on the list this year, despite not even making last year's top 50.
Netbig.com is a Shenzhen-based university ranking website which began releasing an array of Chinese univeristy rankings in 1999. The reputatio ranking is based on questionaires to those involoving in the country's education sector.

Founded in Shanghai in 1896 as Nanyang Public, the university was renamed Jiaotong University (XJTU) in 1921, and was moved to Xi'an, Shaanxi Province in 1956. Xi'an Jiaotong University currently offers 78 undergraduate majors, and awards master's degrees in 200 disciplines and Ph.D. degrees in 115. It has a current enrollment of more than 30,000 full-time students, including more than 13,000 masters and doctoral candidates.
