In addition to its role as a major passenger hub, Guangzhou Baiyun Airport also serves as a major logistics center for South China and Southeast Asia. It hosts 33 airlines, which travel 110 routes per day connecting Guangzhou with over 100 cities in the world. Annual passenger traffic increased by 10.6 percent from 37.05 million in 2009 to 40.98 million in 2010.Built in early 1930s, Guangzhou Baiyun Airport in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province covers an area of 31,000 hectares. As one of the country's three major aviation hubs, the airport is a hub for China Southern Airlines and Shenzhen Airlines.
