Xishuangbanna, Yunnan
Lying in southwest Yunnan Province, Xishuangbanna is an autonomous prefecture inhabited by the Dai ethnic group. It borders Vietnam to the east and Laos to the south, the area is one of the most enchanting travel destinations in China. It boasts mysterious rainforests, rare plants, wild animals and tropical fruits. Between April 13 and 15 each year, the Water-Splashing Festival, the Dai New Year, is celebrated in Xishuangbanna, attracting thousands of travelers to the carnival.
