Aksu, Xinjiang
Aksu, the capital city of Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, lies on the border of China, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. With Tarim River to the east, Tianshan Mountain to the west and Tarim Basin to the south, Aksu has abundant natural resources, including oil, gas, coal, water and various minerals. As an important stop along the Silk Road in ancient China, Aksu is also renowned for its unique scenery. Tianshan Mountain, Keping Canyon, Tarim River and the Taklamakan Desert are the most well-known destinations in the area.
