Hunchun, Jilin
Hunchun, situated in the lower reaches of the Tumen River, is a county-level city in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in eastern Jilin Province. At the junction of China, Russia and North Korea, the city enjoys a strategic location. In 1992, the Hunchun Border Economic Cooperation Zone was established there, marking a serious phase of opening-up and development for Hunchun. With abundant coal, minerals and water resources, the city now focuses on water and hydroelectric power, wood products manufacturing, textiles and electronic production.
