Amazon's Kindle Fire
Market Price: US$199
Amazon.com Inc., the world's e-commerce king, officially announced late last month its long-awaited tablet computer, the Kindle Fire. Hailed as an iPad killer, the device has the following basic features: a 7-inch multi-touch display with In-Plane Switching technology and anti-reflective treatment, a 1024x600 pixel display, powerful dual-core processor, 8 GBs of memory, Amazon's revolutionary cloud-accelerated web browser Silk and 8-hour continuous reading or 7.5-hour video playback. The most impressive part of this device is that Amazon has made full use of its e-content and cloud computing services, supported by the Kindle e-book library, web-based music and video stores, and the newly-added Amazon Appstore for Android and Amazon Cloud Drive streaming media service. Although it is not equipped with cameras or 3G functionality, the device has achieved instant popularity due to its low price. It's said that Amazon is set to unveil another 10-inch Android tablet later this year.
