The Giant Squid is a deep-ocean dwelling squid in the family Architeuthidae. Many biologists estimate that it can reach lengths of 13.7 meters with 1 ton in weight. It has eight strong tentacles and two long and thin tentacles. Their eyes can reach in length of 25.4 centimeters. In 2004, Japanese scientists took the first image of a live giant squid in its natural habitat. Then, they captured and filmed a live giant squid in Ogasawara Islands in 2006. However, the squid died after get caught. Currently, scientists only have very limited information about the giant squid.
