Roy Hodgson, born in 1947, is a former English footballer and current manager of West Bromwich Albion. Hodgson started his managerial career in 1976 at the Swedish top division side Halmstad, and became the manager of Liverpool in July 2010. From 1992 to 1995, he guided the Swiss national team to the last 16 of the 1994 World Cup and qualification for Euro 1996. From 2006 to 2007, he managed the Finnish national team, guiding them to their highest ever FIFA ranking of 33rd place. He has also coached many notable club sides, including Halmstads BK, Internazionale, Blackburn Rovers, Grasshoppers, FC Copenhagen, Udinese, Viking, Fulham and Liverpool.
