Mount Qomolangma Nature Reserve
The reserve is situated on the borders of Dingri, Nielamu, Jilong and Dingjie counties in Tibet, along with the Nepalese border. It is composed of three main areas: the core area (10,324 square kilometers), the buffer area (6,254 square kilometers) and the experimental area (16,561 square kilometers).Mount Qomolangma, known as Mount Everest in the West, is the highest mountain in the world, with an altitude of 8,848 meters. In 1988, Mount Qomolangma Natural Reserve was established by the Tibetan government.
In the reserve, there are 2,300 kinds of plants, 200 kinds of birds and 300 kinds of animals, many of which are the extremely precious ones. Wind, water and solar energy are abundant.
