China's Zheng Qinwen was stunned by qualifier Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic in the second round of the WTA 500 Berlin Open on Thursday.
Originally scheduled for Wednesday, the match had been postponed due to slippery venue when Siniakova led 5-3 in the first set.
As the match continued on Thursday, Siniakova maintained her momentum, outplaying Zheng 6-4, 6-4 to notch her second win against a top 10 player in 2024, and 10th career overall.
The 28-year-old has now won both of her grass-court meetings with Zheng, following her first victory in the first round of Wimbledon 2023.
