Switzerland, Sweden, Britain and Japan have taken up the semifinal spots of the women's team curling at Beijing 2022, with host China narrowly missing out.
China kept its semifinal hope alive after stunning the traditional powerhouse Canada 11-9 on Wednesday night, tying with Canada and Britain in win-loss record.
But its hope of reaching the last four was extinguished after Canada smashed Denmark 10-4, and Britain overrode the Russian Olympic Committee 9-4 in Thursday's last round robin session, which put China into seventh with four wins and five losses.
Other action saw South Korea beaten by Sweden 8-4, while Japan secured the last semifinal berth despite falling 8-4 to Switzerland.
The semifinals will be staged Friday evening as Switzerland takes on Japan and Sweden plays against Britain.
