Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 2012, China's central leadership has incorporated eco-environmental progress into the Five-sphere Integrated Plan for national development and promoted an environmentally friendly development model, advocating the belief that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets.
Over the years, the country has taken persistent steps to enhance ecological conservation and achieved steady progress, as shown in the government's annual work reports. Here, China.org.cn takes a look at the progress to date.
