China's tax burden is higher than many middle- and high-income countries, according to a risk report on taxes by the Central University of Finance and Economics, Economic Information Daily reports. |

For a country with a per capita GDP of more than US$2,000, the best tax rate is 23%, according to the report. China's per capita GDP was US$3,700 in 2009, but its tax rate was 32.2%. |
