第一段：隨著大學(xué)畢業(yè)生就業(yè)壓力的增加,有人認為大學(xué)應(yīng)該以學(xué)生將來的工作為導(dǎo)向(career-oriented)，應(yīng)根據(jù)就業(yè)教授學(xué)生實際知識和培養(yǎng)他們的實際技能(practical knowledge and skills)，而有些人不同意這種看法，他們認為大學(xué)教育還有其他職能。我認為大學(xué)教育除了要教學(xué)生知識和實際知識和技能之外，還有其他的職能和目的。大學(xué)教育應(yīng)該培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的綜合能力(cultivating students' overall abilities)。
第二段：一方面大學(xué)教育應(yīng)該教學(xué)生工作中需要實際知識和技能，這樣可以使學(xué)生在工作初期具備優(yōu)勢，很快熟悉工作并進入工作狀態(tài)。
