The launching ceremony for the first Sound and Light Show in Chinese interpretation was held Tuesday night in Cairo. About a hundred guests attended the ceremony, enjoying the Chinese interpretation from the earphone for the first time.
"In the minds of 1.3 billion Chinese people, Egypt means a very special country. To us, the words of the pyramid and the Nile sound warm and close as those of the Great Wall and the Yangtze River in China," Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Song Aiguo said.
He said the show in Chinese interpretation was a good way to help the Chinese to better understand the pyramids and more and more Chinese tourists would be attracted to visit Egypt in the future. On the other hand, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Zahi Hawass said the Chinese people were much interested in the Egyptian antiquities and the exploring of the pyramids.
According to Sound and Light Company Chairman Essam Abdel-Hady, the Chinese interpretation of the Sound and Light Show will be available in Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel and Edfu in the future.
