Editor's note: The opening ceremony for the Fifth Sichuan International Tea Expo was held on May 5 in Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province, also known as the "land of abundance." There were 650 participating enterprises from over 20 Chinese provinces, including Yunnan, Guizhou, Tibet, Fujian, Guangdong and Taiwan, and many from foreign countries like India, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam and Thailand. Sponsored and organized by the Sichuan provincial government, the four-day expo has three exhibition areas where local, national and international tea brands gave full play to their respective advantages. More than 3,000 varieties of tea were on display during the expo, alongside exquisite tea sets, costumes, classical furniture and antiques. The visitors can also experience traditional tea ceremonies.
