China is now seeking talents from around the world to join its newly establishment Climate Center for Strategy Research and International Cooperation, a senior official said Monday in Durban, South Africa.
Sun Lin, director general of China's National Development and Reform Commission, introduced the center as an environmental think-tank that will conduct research on China's climate change policies and policy-making process. It will also be responsible for cooperating with international agencies in dealing with climate change.
"China plays a very important role in global climate change," Global Environment Facility CEO Monique Barbut said. "Many developing countries are watching China's performance, action and initiative in combating climate change. So the establishment of the NCSC shows that China has become model country among the UNFCCC parties."
