China is expected to unveil the general plans for the reform of the ecological civilization system which will place more emphasis on a low-carbon, green economy, said Yang Weimin, Deputy Chief of the Central Financial Leading Group in Beijing on Sept. 17.

The plans were approved by the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee on Sept. 11, and will be published in the next few days, according to Yang.

China's economic growth has been put into a lower gear, and that is "an inevitable, un escapable pressure" as China restructures its economy into what is being called the "new normal," said Yang, who also noted that an important way of changing the growth pattern amid the economic restructuring is to shift toward a "green, low-carbon" economy.

Shifting to "green growth" actually has great potential as China's economic base, which is measured by the US$10 trillion, promising long-term prosperity for China.

Yang said that under the central authority’s overall deployment, special panels on the reform of the economic system and the ecological civilization system have put forward more specific proposals and measures to carry out the reform.

He concluded by saying, "advanced ideas, top-down designs, gap-filling, and integrated unity" featured among the general plans, which mirror President Xi Jinping's requirement for problem-oriented solutions.
