China's most famous actress Zhang Ziyi has proved her universal
charisma by winning a "most influential Chinese in 2006" award on
Saturday.
The 28-year-old, who is best known for her performances in
several Hollywood blockbusters including Crouching Tiger,
Hidden Dragon, was honored for being a two-time Oscar awards
presenter and a judge at last year's Cannes Film Festival.
Tiger director Ang Lee was also a winner for his "Best
Director" Oscar for Brokeback Mountain.
The "most influential Chinese in 2006" awards, presented at
Peking University Hall in Beijing, were jointly sponsored by
various media, including Phoenix TV, Baidu.com and Beijing
Youth Daily?newspaper, to honor outstanding Chinese from
a variety of fields.
