The principle of respecting the diversity of world civilizations is deeply rooted in Chinese civilization. Chinese culture values harmony, while Chinese civilization emphasizes "harmony without uniformity" and respect for diversity and differ- ences. Harmony is essential for the birth and growth of things. Only by harmonizing and integrating different things can we kindle booming new things. Harmony can only be achieved by maintaining differences rather than setting them aside.

Chinese culture values harmonious coexistence, and Chinese people do not consider conflict between countries inevitable. "Civilizations only vary from each other, and no civilization is superior to others," said President Xi Jinping. Based on the principles of respecting diversity and accommodating differences, China works with all countries based on equality and mutual respect to jointly safeguard world peace and stability and promote the progress of human civilization.
