China's Ministry of Commerce said here Monday that it has sent 3,000 heating stoves and some mobile shops to the earthquake-struck Yushu, Qinghai Province.
The stoves would arrive in Xining, the provincial capital of Qinghai, on Tuesday before reaching Yushu, said the ministry.
The Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Yushu sits 4,000 meters above sea level, where nighttime temperatures can easily drop to below freezing point.
The mobile shops would arrive in Xining on April 21 and then go into the quake-hit region after being loaded with relief supplies, said the ministry, which had also ordered movable plank houses to serve as shops and ensure commodity supplies in the region.
