Beijing's Xicheng district recently rolled out eight tour routes along the city's Central Axis, inviting people to join in a month-long event to explore the historic south-north line by walking and cycling.

Alongside the heritage sites on Beijing Central Axis, these routes also include other historical and cultural landmarks such as the Grand Canal, operas, time-honored brands, intangible cultural heritages, and performance spaces.

Four cultural experts have been appointed as mentors to provide event participants with background information and insights into the cultural essence of the Central Axis and Beijing.

The initiative will run throughout November, with registration available both offline and online via WeChat platform.
