Official: Higher transfer payments support local fiscal stability

China has maintained local fiscal stability this year, with the central government allocating 8.99 trillion yuan (US$1.24 trillion) to local governments in transfer payments by the end of June, said Wang Jianfan, an official at the Ministry of Finance, at a press briefing Wednesday.
