A new Coca-Cola bottling plant opened on Friday in Guian New Area of southwest China's Guizhou Province.
This is the first bottling plant of COFCO Coca-Cola Beverages Limited to open in Guizhou and the 20th across China. COFCO Coca-Cola Beverages Limited is a joint venture between China's biggest food trader COFCO and U.S. beverage giant Coca-Cola.
The first phase of the bottling plant, with a total investment of 270 million yuan (about 40.8 million U.S. dollars), covers an area of about 10.5 hectares with a planned production capacity of 170,000 tonnes.
Qing Lijun, Party chief and CEO of COFCO Coca-Cola Beverages Limited, said the new plant will not only help meet consumer demand in Guizhou, but also be of great significance in improving operational efficiency and reducing costs.
