The construction of the headquarters of Beijing Investment Group Co., Ltd began Thursday. The building will become the first to house a municipally-administered state-owned enterprise in Beijing's sub-center.
The headquarters building will sit near the Tongzhou campus of Renmin University of China and the Dongxiayuan Subway Station on Line 6. With a total construction area of around 110,000 square meters, the project is scheduled to complete in September 2023.
According to the construction team, the building will adopt traditional Chinese culture elements and a low carbon design.
Data shows that its geothermal heat pumps will reduce 1,220 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions and slash energy use by 42% annually compared with traditional heating systems. Its photovoltaic facilities are expected to generate about 394,000 kWh of electricity and reduce 238 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year.
