Ge Fei (格非) was born in Dantu of Zhejiang Province in August 1964. He was enrolled in the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Shanghai's East China Normal University in 1981.
As a Doctor of Letters, Ge Fei is now a professor and doctoral tutor with the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Tsinghua University.
Ge has long since been engaged in writing and literature research. His major works are the long novels "Peach Blossom Beauty," "My Dream of the Mountain And River" and "Spring Ends in Jiangnan;" the short stories "Missing Boat" and "Green and Yellow;" and the academic works "Invitation of Literature" and "A Study on Narration in Novels."
