A reading event for children and teenagers opened in Beijing on Thursday, aiming to cultivate a deeper understanding and love for the country among the next generation.
Putting the spotlight on Chinese civilization, this event will engage primary and secondary school students nationwide in various activities such as family reading sessions, campus lectures and online quizzes, according to the organizer.
Relevant books will also be published as a part of the reading event.
Organized by the All-China Women's Federation, this year's event is the 32nd edition of a patriotism-themed reading program. Over the past years, it has attracted a billion young readers from across the country.
