New Silk Road: Sino-Italian cultural heritage display

Co-organized by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities of Italy, and Embassy of Italy in Beijing, "New Silk Road: Sino-Italian Collaboration and Achievements on Cultural Heritage Preservation" exhibition was opened to the public on October 25 at the Capital Museum in Beijing. The exhibition will run through to November 10.

Many officials attended the opening ceremony and gave speeches celebrating glorious achievements of cultural heritage preservation in both countries. Officials included Gu Yucai, deputy director general of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, Claudio Poeta, attaché (cultural) of Embassy of the Republic of Italy and Zhu Xiaodong, deputy director of the Chinese Academy of Cultural Heritage.

Since 1988, the two countries have hosted a series of cultural heritage exhibitions, exchanged researches and visited each other. Moreover, both countries have worked together in several preservation and renovation projects.

The exhibition consists of 11 parts including collaboration agreements signed by Chinese and Italian governments, hardware construction, technical cooperation and staff training. The exhibits include 14 restoration relics, laboratory equipments, 60 kinds of books, and 60 kinds of visual and audio products.
